Handkerchief of appliqué lace with sixteen rocailles

Handkerchief of natural-colored applied lace: mixed lace - needle lace and bobbin lace - applied on machine-made tulle. An eight-lobed batiste center is bordered by ecru-colored lace with large, lobed, shield-shaped reserves in the corners and smaller reserves on the middle of the sides. The contours of the corner reserves are formed by small C-scrolls and rocailles with meshwork (needle lace). In the reserves stand fine, curved twigs with dwarf carnations, forget-me-nots (bobbin lace) and ranunculus (needle lace). The fairly straight border is built up from grape leaves and rosettes (needle lace).
