About this work

Handkerchief with a border of fine natural-colored embroidery in plumetis, sand stitch and open needle lace stitches around an unadorned center. The pattern is symmetrical with respect to two axes. A double meander border connects eight motifs, located in the corners and on the middle of the sides. Each motif shows an openwork four-lobed rosette, surrounded by large leaf volutes. On the outside an openwork, whimsical shell border.
