About this work

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace, strop lace. The pattern consists of a row of diamonds between zigzag lines of linked and openwork circles. Along the underside of the strip hangs under each top in the zigzag line a fan-shaped motif as a shell downwards. Along the upper side the zigzag line is connected to a mesh ground, a tulle ground. The diamonds are made in net stitch. The openwork circles are made with a filler ground where four threads as decorative thread emphasize the contours of the circles.
