About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Russian lace. The repeating and continuous pattern is formed by a ribbon that alternately forms a heart and drop-shaped shell while winding. Along the top the pattern is connected with a mesh ground. The ribbon is made in linen stitch and in the drop-shaped shell a rhombus-shaped motif is made in net stitch. The top edge is straight finished. The scalloped lower edge is finished with picots.
