Strip of bobbin lace with diamonds and dark blue fan-shaped scallops

Strip of coloured bobbin lace: Strop lace. The colors used are natural-coloured and dark blue, with the natural colour predominating. The repeating pattern consists along the underside of the strip of dark blue fan-shaped shells placed against each other. Above the scalloped edge in the space between the fans always one rhombus is placed. There are two variations in rhombuses, which alternate with each other. The one rhombus is made in net stitch and has a pointed oval in the openwork center. The other rhombus is built up with four corner points in linen stitch, which are connected to each other by overlapping pairs and in the center by a contemporary Flemish stitch. At the upper side of the strip the rhombuses are connected to each other by a lattice ground: a Strop lattice ground. The ground is decorated with dark blue mosses, made in shape stitch. There are always four mosses in rhomboid configuration between the rhombuses. The upper side of the strip is finished straight.
