About this work
Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace, Old Flemish lace. The seemingly chaotic pattern with a string of very sparse vines repeats itself with very many c-shaped splits and with small oval buds. The vine is made in a trellis ground, a five-hole ground. The very sparingly applied solid work is made in net stitch and linen stitch, where the openwork borders are approximately as wide as the solid work with which the vines are made. The upper side of the strip is finished straight. The underside is finished straight with picots.
