About this work

A soldier on guard, full-length, facing right, taking a musket (a certain type of firearm) from his left shoulder with his right hand. In his left hand, besides the butt of the musket, a fork (musket fork) and a lit match. This is the same position as the one shown on the third print of the series. This print is part of the series of 43 numbered prints of musketeers from the Wapenhandelinghe.
